Well, I hope everyone got a chance to get out and catch a few trout over the last six days. It looks like the fishing may come to a screeching halt for a bit here. Reports are coming in from all over that most of the rivers across the state are experiencing some kind of run-off issues. From northwest WI to southwest WI to some of the rivers in central WI, the rain and above average temps have finally caught up with us. The good news is that a lot of areas don't have a whole lot of snow to melt and cause issues. Some areas are worse than others, though. I talked to my mom this morning and she told me that the upper Kinnickinnic was nearly touching the bridge near their house. Normally you can walk (bent over, mind you) under that bridge. It's a good cleansing process and something that our rivers and fish have tolerated for generations. Still, there's nothing tougher than coming out of a long winter and not being able to fish because the rivers are out of their banks.
